PAINTINGS AND SCULPTURE BY SURA DUPARTON EXHIBIT NOV. 15 THRU DEC. 30 IN ETA GALLERY

eta announces 2002 exhibition schedule

CHICAGO:- The paintings and sculpture of Sura P. DuPart go on exhibit in the eta Gallery Thursday, November I5 through Sunday, December 30,2001. A free public reception Will be held from 8:00 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 15. For information call eta at 773-752-3955.

Sura P. DUPart has been a practicing artist for over three decades. He began his career working primarily in oils, later turned to wood sculpture and metal work. For the past five years, stone sculpture has been his medium of choice. He has exhibited extensively both locally and internationally, and was selected to exhibit in a special showing at the University of IFE in Nigeria where he also received special training with a master carver.

His work is in the Chicago Artists Collection at the DuSable Museum of African American History and in other collections. A teacher as well as an artist, DuPart taught woodcarving to youth in Atlanta and provided therapeutic carving and painting classes to mental health patients.
