WESTERN
UNION EYES AFRICAN MARKET

CHICAGO:-Representatives
of Western Union had an opportunity to discuss how African vendors particularly
can capitalize on the lucrative money transfer business. Among the reps
that conferred in the meeting were Mr. Alton F. Campbell, Area VP Chicago
and Midwest, Ty Harvey, Business Development Manager, Mr. Steve Ubah,
International Business Development Manager/Africa, Ms. Sabine Bauchau,
Responsible Marketing – Afrique, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu, Country Manager,
Western Union Customer Service Center, Ghana and Marcellus Duncan - Chanayire,
Chief Manager/Financial Services, Ghana Post Company Ltd. Mr. Cyril Ibe
of Window to Africa.
The meeting focused on Western Union’s intention of on supporting various
events and activities ranging in theme from educational and professional
seminars, which help unite business owners and industry leaders, to festivals
and cultural activities, which facilitate social and interaction and celebration.
They urge all African entrepreneurs to participate and take advantage
of their incredible services.
Over the past three months, Western Union has sponsored several African
events including the East African Summit, Otumfuo Education Fund in Ghana,
the Congolese Independence Day celebration and Nigerian Reunion 2001.
