AFRICAN WONDERLAND CELEBRATES 15TH ANNIVERSARY

By The Journalist

African Wonderland Imports have survived for 15 years. To celebrate this incredible achievement, Baba Olu and Ms. Alice Tetteh, proprietors of the establishment, called on friends and patrons alike to help them celebrate this joyous occasion. A whole day event, patrons and well-wishers could be seen entering in and out of the shop. Even as they rounded up for the day, people would still be strolling in.

Located at 4713 N. Broadway, the shop features lots of African artifacts, clothing, gifts and indigenous items that are hard to find in Chicago. According to Baba Olu, they thank the Almighty God for giving them courage to sustain in this competitive environment.

The party started at 11:00 a.m., and it featured lots of African food and highlife music. The proprietors were amazed as to how many people had shown up. As Ms. Tetteh danced to the old hits featuring Ramblers Dance Band, one could sense the elation as she danced up and down the store.
