2001 KIZZY AWARDS & BLACK LOVE

CHICAGO:- Jon Daye’s 24th annual Kizzy awards gala was as full of surprises as the 1980 salute. It was that year that Stevie Wonder (a non-performing guest) was moved to tears by a poem Jon Daye had written, that Wonder was inspired to perform an impromptu 45-minute medley of his best selling love songs to the delight of the SRO-audience of Chicago’s black-tied elite, mixed with some of Detroit’s finest, and a Hill Billy wedding party that crashed the Kizzy Awards gala once they learned that Stevie Wonder was performing in the main Ballroom of the Palmer House.

Messengers of Goodwill

By The Journalist

Reide had a dream while praying one night in 1991. The Lord spoke to her and revealed what He had for her in the future. She was to travel to Africa to spread goodwill and help the natives. This manifestation was just the beginning of an incredible undertaking that has so far donated more than a million dollars in drugs and medical equipment to the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana.

Dr. Reide was in the process of attaining her doctorate when she had the vision. She then informed the then Pastor of the Greater Grace Temple Bishop David Ellis who without hesitation gave Dr. Reide his full support and blessing.
