ORIGINS OF ASANTE KINGS By The Journalist Asante emerged as a political power in the later seventeenth century.
The Golden Stool, called from sky by Okomfo Anokye, became the symbol,
which unified all Asantefuo. Either history points to most Asantefuo migrating
northward out of the Adanse region. Around the middle of the century,
mmusua (clans) of certain lineages, especially of the Ekuono and Oyoko
made their marks militarily by importing firearms from the coastal areas.
In the 1660s and 1670s, a struggle for the control of the Kwaman area
around Tafo – involved series of wars which would forever be part of the
Asante history. HEALING
BY FAITH By The Journalist CHICAGO:-Evangelist Pauline Walley knows what it takes to reach out to
people in need. As a minister who has written 10 books and over 200 poetries,
Walley has traveled over the world ministering in Churches and crusades
while holding revival meetings and seminars in various academic institutions
including universities. She holds a masters degree in journalism and was
one of the few women journalists in sports before she was called into
full-time ministry. A
TRIBUTE TO REV. DR. WALTER P. TROST By Evans Afenya It is sad and regrettable that Rev. Dr. Walter P.
Trost, the founding principal of Mawuli School, a great place for learning
is no more. May his soul rest in peace and may honor and dignity sanctify
his name forever. Rev. Trust’s visionary leadership in the founding of
Mawuli School in 1950 continues to serve as a source of inspiration and
hope to all products of that school and to many students whose families
would otherwise have had difficulty affording secondary school education
during those time in Ghana’s history. Mawuli School keeeps producing various
intellectuals and professionals who are engaged in business, government,
industry and academia.
