THE SECOND CITY RETURNS TO THE CENTER
Acclaimed Improv Comedy Troupe Performance April 7

UNIVERSITY PARK, ILL.—Chicago’s very own improv comedy troupe The Second City will perform at The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m. The critically acclaimed touring production has been descrbed as “a comedy powerhouse” by the Chicago Sun-Times and “devastingly funny” by the Toronto Star.

Art Exhibition

Please join the South Side Community Arts Center at the opening reception to Memories, a collection of works spanning the last 20 years by the Nigerian artist Dayo Laoye. The exhibit that opened on March 31st is slated to run through Sunday, April 29, 2001.

Born in Ede, South Western Nigeria, Dayo grew up around sculptures and colorful Yoruba festivals. As a youngster, his subjects were frequently drawings of photographs of his grandparents. Later in high school, his grandfather, The Timi, gave him a copy of Ananse, a book by John Biggers. Drawings from the book became his guide
