Nearly every nation has experienced war, disease, famine, currency devaluations, inflation, recession or poverty over the past few years. Fortunately, America has been immune to all of this. The stock market has returned in excess of 20% a year, unemployment has been at record lows and the Internet and technology have made us more productive. As a result many of us live quite high on the hog.
