THE EMPLOYEE AND THE LAW 1. Employment At Will Most employment opportunities today are at will. What does the term, “employment at will” mean? This means that the employer can hire and fire the employee at will while
the employee can leave the employment at will. However, the employee at
will can be fired for any reason whatsoever except discrimination. The
exceptions are employees with written or union-negotiated contract or
civil service employees. |
