US - AFRICA INTERNATIONAL TRADE DEVELOPMENT TRADE CONFERENCE

CHICAGO: - Trade opportunities are rampant in Africa if one has the right connections. The Continental Africa Chamber of Commerce (CACC) hosted the US - Africa International Trade Development Conference and Tourism Expo at the State of Illinois Building May 23 and 24. Sponsored by Western Union, the convention also explored trade and tourism opportunities in Tanzania. Mr. Lawrence Miller of Western Union also participated.

John Bryant, 34, CEO and Chairman of Operation HOPE, Inc. sums it all up he says, "there is a difference between being broke and being poor. Being broke is temporary economic situation, but being poor is a disabling frame of mind. I will never, ever be poor again."

OPOKU WARE SCHOOL’S CONVENTION IN D.C. GLIDES TO A SUCCESS

WASHINGTON, D.C.:- Opoku Ware Secondary School (OWASS) held its annual national fundraising event in Washington D.C. on May 27. Featured as distinguished guests were the current headmaster Mr. Dapaah Berko who flew in from Ghana and former headmaster and Chaplain Rev. Father Habits who currently resides in Holland. The event, organized to raise funds to construct a computer lab for the school also marked the first time that the current executives, with the help of some members of the local Akatakyie Chapter in D.C., successfully launched and initiated our agenda for the 2002 Golden Jubilee.

Lagos: - A Nigerian student in the United Kingdom, Osita Onuma, has set a new academic record at the university of London, scoring 98.85 on a scale of 100 points in the 1998/99 post graduate program of the institution.
